Wedding planning—How can you have your cake and eat it too?
There are many complicated things in life and putting together a wedding could be harder than becoming a brain surgeon. Your wedding day is something you want to enjoy and not worry about, but how can you have your cake and eat it too? This is how.
Weddings are multiple headed monsters that love to eat your time and money and if you let them, they will have your soul for dessert too. If you are like most people you have a 9 to 5 job which makes it even worse. KILL ME!!. How the hell you put together such celebration with the time you have, take good care of your expending, and be able to enjoy your wedding day like is 1999? Introducing wedding planning.
I know I know your friend told you that she will be able to help you and will get everything done for you…. Yes, but nooo. This is the deal. All of us have a friend or a family member that is more than willing to help out on putting together your amazing day, but here is the trigger.
If your friend/family is like anybody else they have a job and a family… Just like you, therefore, the time that they have will be as limited as yours making the outcome to be the same… If not worse because at the end they may not have much experience on planning a wedding (yeah but she planned my little sis BB party) …but a wedding is very different and this is wedding planner territory.
Now, I know wedding planners can make a dent on your budget but they can also save your wedding— and this is what I mean.
Planning: The wedding planner/s will sit with you and run your wedding in their data base of knowledge and come up with the perfect solution. Think about it, they do this every week, every year with many other brides. They have a vast knowledge and know-how that will save you money in the long run…. for example: They know when and where to get the best and cheapest flowers that goes exactly with your vision, plus they deal with the flower shop owner on a regular basis. This mean that they can help you save some moolah on the flower department. They also know what works, what doesn’t, what looks good, and what looks great having your vision as their roadmap.
Buying: You gave them a budget, a timeline, your vision and walked out. The will be doing the dealing and the leg work for you while you are at work or just simply sidekicking them. This at the end will save you a tons of time and headaches… I know you don’t want headaches.
Putting it all together: The day of the wedding they will have everything ready for you and your guest, just the same way you envisioned but without you moving a finger. They are a freaking expert at making things and putting a room together… They do this all the time lol.
On the wedding day: This is my favorite part. When one of my brides says that they are not having a wedding planner, I always ask them this— What happened, if your florist deliver the wrong center piece to your wedding? What happens, if the venue doesn’t deliver the appetizer your selected, which by the way cost you 10 dollars more? What happens, if they light the place with the wrong colors? If you answer is “I will take care of it!” then you will not be enjoying your wedding…. and what will be the point?
So, this is what I often suggest.
Hire a wedding planner. They will listen to you, they will create your perfect wedding for your budget, do the legwork and necessary purchases. At the end, they can save you more money and headaches.
Now, what if you cannot hire a planner?
Then hire them just for the wedding date. They called it “Day Planner” Basically is the same thing—the will put all the decorations together and take care of your wedding as the day goes. The only downside is that you won’t have the benefit of using their contacts and knowledge for the whole process but at least you will get to have an organized and smooth wedding day for you to enjoy.
